artist statement

Someone once told me that the sky is Gods canvas, and looking at a sunset I couldn't agree more. I have always been drawn to a multitude of colors because I feel they have a way of expression unlike anything I've experienced, which is why I love sunsets.  My process of painting is smattering colors on a canvas with a palette knife, napkin, or brush until something emerges from them.

why do what I do?

I feel at peace when I can express how I view our beautiful creation. God has created so many little breathtaking glimmers in our lives I feel honored when I'm able to capture some. I personally connect with water and the beach, that peace I get I want to share with others if just for a glance.

short story

Born and raised in rural Pennsylvania I grew accustomed to the outdoors. Young in life I discovered a love for art and the water, especially the ocean. This posed a problem for living in a landlocked state. Long story short I moved 7 hours south to New Bern North Carolina, met my loving husband and I'm happy to say we're here to stay.
